Hamster Roborovski Care

Their care is basically similar to that of other hamsters, in particular the other “Dwarft”. As with Russians and Chinese, camps barred by mouse are required to confine without risk them or, failing that, a tank, (plastic or glass). They seem to be more fanatic tubes, houses out of plastic and refuges that other species of hamster, and will have pleasure to nest in all the bearings of paperboard or small boxes which are given to them. In terms of food, the normal food of hamster is appropriate to them well, although like feast they particularly taste by a little seed of bird, in particular of millet or foreign seed of finch. (They will also take the millet of jet sold for budgerigars). Concerning fruits and vegetables, “greens” the ones as soon as other species of hamster eat are appropriate for Roborovski.

Handling
Hámster has very poor Vista and it is scared very easily. This can give rise to a tiny amount or to two if you reach just inside and roasts it. To always let hámster know that you are there, and then, any spoonful he above stops or to let it walk in our open hand and later to close your gives it. If I roast to hámster of aforesaid it can be interpreted as to try despredador “to grasp it” and will want probably the mordedura you.
Once you have hámster towards outside, to be careful, because the power “jump” of hámster of your hands (they cannot look like to say how he is distant is the floor). It is a good idea to seat in the floor or a sofa whereas you have hámster towards it go, this one aid to avoid any injury to fall to the floor. To have very well-taken care of as these small hámsteres is very fast and if it leaves your hand, you will have diversion trying to take it.
The sense of hámsteres of the scent is very good, has this present when you are going to direct it. If it finishes eating, your hands smell like the food. To hámster, your finger smells like the potato shaving which you ate 10 minutes ago, and can try to eat your finger! Not preocuparte, he makes generally that your finger is not food. If you have any thing in your hands that emit an offensive scent, you cannot even notice it, but the will and it of hámster can bite in the reaction to the scent. To always remember to wash the hand first. Then they say the “first impressions”, one first impression of hámsteres of you is your scent well.

Bedding
Hardwood chip bedding, such as aspen is the best. CareFresh Pet Bedding or Pine bedding will also work as long as it is not dusty. The dust can cause upper respiratory problems. NEVER use cedar shavings, as cedar contains phenols, which can cause severe irritation to hamsters.

Adorable Roborovski Hamster

Hamsters are soft, furry and small. Especially for roborovski hamster, they make wonderful pets because they can be entertaining and educational while living in their sweet home. Hamsters are very inquisitive and curious, just watch their twitching sniffing nose, which is constantly assessing and analyzing the environment where they live. The pet supplies needed for pet hamsters is minimal. A simple cage, some bedding and a running wheel make up the basic furniture. Add in some food and water and your pet will be content. For a tips: I do not give any water to my roborovski hamster, instead I give some lettuce frequently to supply their water needs. Be sure to include a piece of wood for gnawing because this helps the hamster to prevent its teeth from overgrowing.

Pet hamsters came in many different breeds; from the Russian dwarf to the Chinese hamster. Hamster health will be one of your main considerations because while they are durable and rugged, once ill they can sink very quickly. Healthy pet hamsters are active, curious and constantly on the go when not sleeping. These are good indication of your hamster’s care: is it busy eating, running around the cage and generally alert and active? If so, you have a healthy pet that will last for a long time.

Hamster Roborovski Breeding

Hamster Roborovski breeding can sometimes be confusing for a hamster owner. Fortunately, there are only a few basic things you need to know before you start hamster breeding. It is best to breed female hamsters that are older than 4 months of age. Otherwise, the roborovski's hamster may destroy its own litter. Also, do not touch the hamster babies. Otherwise your sent may get on them, and the mother hamster may not recognize it as her own baby. It is usually a good idea to only breed hamsters of the same breed, unless you are breeding your hamsters for pets or for food. When you are breeding your roborovski hamsters, make sure that you don’t breed brother and sister hamsters. The other combinations, such as father-daughter, mother-son, are usually fine. Before hamsters breeding, make sure that your roborovski hamsters are healthy. If they are not, a disease could spread to from one hamster to another, and any offspring they have.

Roborovski's hamsters didn't breed until their second spring, and many breeders report that theirs only breed at certain times of the year - usually Spring and early Summer. This would suggest that they are responding to increased day length. They also seem to suffer from "inbreeding depression" when colonies are left to breed for several generations. "Outcross" pairs seem more fertile and seem to start breeding at an earlier age, (on average), than those from several generations of inbreeding. For this reason it is important that dedicated breeder exhibitors maintain open bloodlines and exchange animals frequently to minimise inbreeding depression and ensure the future of this delightful animal.

Breeding Roborovski Hamsters easier than breeding Syrian Hamsters how they will live together in mixed-sex pairs or groups, and breed naturally. Pairs or groups of the most established at a young age, as the introduction of older mice could lead to hostilities.

Breeding Roborovski Hamsters should not be taken lightly as to be brought together they can produce Litters of no more than 4-5 weeks. While they can sometimes be a break between Litters and perhaps not as often in the winter when all the world sex couples or mixed groups of children often means available.

If permanently together in mixed-sex couples or groups Roborovski Hamsters are usually breed in spring next year, in which women born.

The female often sterile approximately 24 months of age, but male usually remain fertile for most of their life.

Hamster Roborovski Breeding for pet shows.

Hamster Roborovski breeding for pet shows is the most common reason people breed their hamsters. To produce the best hamster for a pet show, breed roborovski hamsters that are pedigreed. Be aware that a hamster is not considered pedigreed if it has mixed blood in its background within the last four generations. Also, do not breed a hamster that has any type of defect at all, even if it is a minor one. If you breed two hamsters of a different color, be aware that it might produce hamsters that have a color not recognized by the judges of the pet show. If you breed your roborovski hamsters in the correct way, you will have hamsters that are healthy, beautiful, and may just win first prize at the pet shows.

Great Ideas For Hamster Cages

It is really good to have a hamster as your domestic animal. They are very nice and them may different things however particularly cloth chew. While cats and dogs are too permitted, around your house, you freely go your hamster not from its framework leaving. You must a hamster framework if you one of these entzückenden domestic animals possess let. The frameworks come into many different forms and into sizes and have a multiplicity of the characteristics for your hamster.

The most popular form for hamster frameworks is rectangular. Because of this certain form the hamster frameworks are normally inserted into a corner, thus them not in the center of the area to stand and on your way would be. If you feel like a playing with your domestic animal, you can take the hamster out easily however, if you have a playing with him stopped and leaves the area, it are good, to guarantee you, it in its frameworks to have begun.

You should consider security of your hamster, because, if it escapes from its framework, it could become a victim for animals. Many neighbours could do cats and them your adorable small domestic animal to hurt, therefore you should protect it against them. Consequently if it gives, all possible cats should always lock your hamster within its hamster framework around you, so that it would be safe.

Straight like all different mammal hamsters a daily supplying material water need. Most hamster frameworks have water bottle a system. Into the framework, which gives it from the line is formed, a small ball at the end of the nozzle, so that the water does not flow freely, but comes out, if the hamster is thirsty.

You can a little also buy elbows, which can be used for drawing in. They are inserted into the hamster frameworks and the domestic animals to know by them to eat. There are some kinds hamster food.

It is very important to hold your hamster fit as it needs regular exercises. You can help it, by buying a small wheel, which fits within the hamster frameworks. This is, as you guarantee that your attractive domestic animal receives some exercises, if it is closed there. There are also such hamster frameworks, which have plastic hoses, which go through and around the framework. Their principal purpose is to maintain the hamster and let it around its house roam across.

Cleaning hamster framework is a very important task and should not for the well-being of your small domestic animal and neglect itself. Over it simply to form for cleaning, you can set a newspaper on the lower surface of the hamster framework and also some wooden splinters. You fair jack paper and wooden splinters out and replace her with new.

As, living in a building, in which, animals to have reduced taking is, a hamster could be fair the way to have a domestic animal. It is good for your children to have a domestic animal like hamsters, since they learn easily, like one over a domestic animal during cares, playing and having fun with it.

Housing for Hamster Roborovski

A glass or plastic aquarium also make suitable cages for this hamster. Both glass and plastic aquariums can be used as hamster housing. An advantage that plastic has over glass is that it is lighter and therefore easier to clean, but plastic scratches more easily.
Both glass and plastic aquariums have the advantage of being draft-proof; therefore, shavings and bedding remain inside (and not all over your floor!). However, they are cumbersome to clean. In addition, unless you add a specially designed top that takes add-ons such as standard clip-on water bottles and/or food dishes they are not a good choice. Aquariums are not suitable for a clip-on exercise wheel, although a freestanding wheel can be substituted. You must keep in mind that a freestanding wheel will take up more space in your hamster's home than a clip-on wheel. Wheels are a very important part of your hamsters cage as they provide an outlet for the hamsters nearly endless energy.
If you decide to use an aquarium as your roborovski hamster's home, you must cover it securely so that he cannot escape. Ventilated plastic tops designed specifically for these purposes are available. You should always use them for your "hamster aquarium". The ventilated plastic tops often have modifications to take add-ons such as hanging water bottles. Don't use covers with large holes or easy to open lids as your roborovski hamster may escape (remember of his/her very small body); screen lids are not a smart choice ether as your hamster may chew a hole in the lid and get away! Remember that hamsters originate from a desert environment and yours does not like damp conditions so avoid solid lids as these do not all proper venilation and will cause condensation in the aquarium.
A basic standard hamster cage is not ideal for the Roborovski hamster as the bars are usually too far apart and they can squeeze through easily, a cage designed for housing mice is better. Wood shavings should be used for the floor of the cage. Fine sawdust can cause eye irritations and cedar shavings can cause allergic reactions and irritations to the hamster due to the oil it contains. Bedding material should be provided and the best thing to use is shredded paper or hay. Do not use straw as it can cause eye injuries. Other bedding that is not suitable is any man made fibres and materials that can, and will, become stuck in the cheek pouches and cause stomach blockages. The hamster can also get its limbs stuck in the bedding. The cage should be cleaned out weekly and any old food removed. If it is necessary to wash the cage then only use a cleaner specifically designed for cleaning small rodents cages. An earthenware food bowl and a drinking bottle will also be required to feed and water the roborovski hamster.

Behaviour of Hamster Roborovski

In the wild the Roborovski Hamsters are sociable living in groups. They live in a straight burrow within the sand dunes which can extend from between 50cm to 150cm in length and the entrance is usually covered in soft sand.

They sleep during the day, waking only for short periods. They are nocturnal and awake at dusk, being active at night. Their sight is poor but their sense of smell and hearing are very acute and they rely heavily on these senses to recognise each other and their environment.

In Captivity

In captivity the Roborovski Hamster is a sociable pet and is best kept with others of its own kind as to keep them singly is thought to shorten its lifespan and make them agitated. They can be kept in single sex or mixed sex pairs or groups if breeding is intended.

Due to their small size Roborovski Hamsters are able to squeeze through the bars of many commercial hamster cages.

Roborovski's hamsters are gentle and naturally docile but extremely fast! They rarely if ever bite but do wriggle - and if they escape they are difficult to catch, although repeated, gentle handling will calm them down somewhat. Since they are so wriggly, they are not generally recommended for anyone wanting a pet to "cuddle". When they are being handled, it is best to do so over a "playbox" or normal cardboard box from the supermarket. (If a Roborovski's hamster once gets loose on the floor it will be a major challenge to retrieve!) On the plus side, however, their temperament is reliably good; bites or even nips are so rare as to be effectively unheard of. As a pet to watch, busily going about its day to day existence, they are without equal.
The roborovski hamster also active and agile and therefore require a large cage with plenty of space and toys to amuse them in order to prevent behavioural problems developing.

The Roborovski Hamster is nocturnal but is often active for short periods during the day.

Roborovski Hamster History

The hamster of Roborovski was discovered the first time in July 1894 per lieutenant Roborosky in Shan de Nan. It does not seem to be maintained in the captivity until the Seventies when it was maintained in the USSR, in particular by the zoo of Moscow. The zoological company of London obtained the hamster of Roborovski towards the end of the Seventies of the zoo of Moscow but unfortunately those did not multiply.

Hamsters of Roborovski were obtained by some European countries of the zoo of Moscow and other scientific institutes in the old Soviet Union and were imported in RU by a hamster more imagination of Holland in 1990. It it is believed that some zoos in the USA can have also obtained Roborovskis but it would prove that they did not multiply successfully. In 1998 a group of hamsters of Roborovski were imported by a hamster more imagination in the USA of RU. More Roborovskis were caught of the savage in 1997-98 but unfortuantely did not multiply and died shortly after importation due to the effort.

The hamster of Roborovski comes from Western and Eastern Mongolia and Scandinavian China. Hamsters of Roborovski were imported in RU in the Sixties by the zoo of London but the current BRITISH actions were imported of Holland in 1990. Hamsters of Roborovski later were imported in the United States and are now available like pets in much of country.

The hamster of Roborovski is smallest of the species of hamster kept like pets, being only around 4-5 centimetre length. The normal color is arenaceous-but above the back with a white belly and distinctive white “eyebrows” which gives them a very attractive aspect although other varieties exist.

The hamsters of Roborovski are extremely in activity and rapids and thus are not largely kept because a pet because it is much more difficult to handle them than the other species of the dwarf hamster. This makes them the not very suitable pets for the children who want a pet that they can be held and play with but is a pet fascinating for those which simply prefer to observe, in particular once given large and interesting environment in which to live. The hamsters of Roborovski are, however, of very good temperament and seldom grip.

Because the hamsters of Roborovski are not a suitable pet for children whom they are seldom seen in stores of animals but can be obtained starting from the selectors of hamster of specialist in several countries.

The average lifespan of the hamster of Roborovski is 3-3 years of ½ although they can live longer.
